Dear colleagues,

The 6th European Veterinary Immunology Workshop (EVIW2018) will take place on September 5-7, 2018 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. EVIW 2018 is a satellite of the European Immunology Congress (ECI2018) that is organized on September 2-5, in Amsterdam

EVIW 2018 will bring together scientists and students, from Europe and beyond, that conduct fundamental as well as translational and applied research in a multitude of animal species relevant to society such as production animals, companion animals and wildlife species. Some of the diseases carried by these species may have zoonotic impact on human health, whereas these and others like chronic inflammatory diseases may be animal models for their human homologues, which is especially relevant in the context of One Health-One Medicine.

Amongst the participants are the present and future research leaders in Veterinary Immunology Research. A broad field of subjects will be covered, amongst others Innate and Adaptive Immunity, Mucosal Immunity, Infectious Disease and Immunity including Diagnosis and Vaccine development, Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Microbiome-Immune system interaction. EVIW 2018 is a great opportunity to learn about New and Advanced Technologies and results of  fundamental, translational and applied Veterinary Immunology Research. EVIW 2018 will be a stimulating melting pot of students, junior and senior reserachers, leaders and future leaders in Veterinary Immunology Research as well as sponsors and potential users of our research outcome Hence an option to create productive collaborations.

The Conference will start on Wednesday, Sept 5, at 16.00 hrs with the Opening Ceremony, a Keynote Lecture and  the Welcome Reception at the Academiegebouw, which is located on the Dom Square in the Centre of Utrecht. This University Hall is more than just a monument. It is Utrecht University’s ceremonial heart and its public face.

The Scientific sessions at day 2 and 3 (Sept 6 and 7) will take place at the Spoorwegmuseum, This National Railway museum is a nice and very special location, a stroll of just a bit more than a kilometer away from  the City centre!

As a final/closing  event we will have the Conference Dinner at the Janskerk, an ideal opportunity for Scientific and Social networking and ultimately Farewell and closure of our meeting.
